Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the essence and structure of management in terms of managerial functions and in terms of levels and objects of management, taking the specifics of health care into account.

Requirements on student
|
Completion of compulsory 50% attendance at the lectures. Passing a written test.

Content
|
Enterprise and its objectives, types of enterprise, basic economic terms. Assets and sources of financing. Costs, revenues and profit and loss. Health care systems and their financing.

Competences acquired |
Students are familiar with the organization of health care facilities, marketing of health services, personnel management, hospital management information systems, and quality management in health care. Students are able to perform basic analysis of financing and evaluation of health care systems. Students become familiar with business economics, which looks at the economic interrelationships and contexts within and around a given facility and provides practical guidance to real-world activities. Students are able to apply this knowledge, justify and defend its use. |
