Course objectives:
|
The aim of this course is to supply information to students about fundamentals of chemical analysis, i.e. introduce them with the principles of qualitative and quantitative analytical methods by the practical tasks.
|
Requirements on student
|
The student is required to complete all prescribed laboratory exercises.
Continuous check of preparation: weekly entrance test.
Final examination in the form of a written test.
|
Content
|
Qualitative analysis :
Evidence of selected cations and anions.
Quantitative analysis :
Chelatometry - determination of magnesium, copper and mixtures of bismuth and lead, determination of aluminium and mixtures of lead and zinc, calcium and magnesium
Manganometry, bromanometry - determination of iron, hydrogen peroxide, determination of antimony.
Iodometry - determination of copper in brass, antimony and formaldehyde.
Mercuriometry, argentometry - determination of thiocyanates, determination of bromides and iodides.
