Course objectives:
The aim of the course is to unify students' knowledge of secondary school physics, to add the biophysical knowledge and to understand the nature of physiological processes in a human body. The aim is to explain the mechanisms of physical factors affecting living organisms and the possibilities of their use in health care, to give basic information about the physical nature of imaging radiological methods and their potential risks for humans.
Requirements on student
Completion of a written test or oral examination according to the course guarantor's decision.

Competences acquired |
After completing the course, students understand the core of biophysical processes in a human body and physical methods used in health care. They have a basic idea of the principles that modern imaging methods are based on, and understand the risks for the organism associated with their use. They know the basic principles of protection against ionizing radiation. |
