Course objectives:
|
The aim is to acquaint students with the physiological functions of tissues and organs and with the mechanisms that are involved in managing and maintaining of homeostasis. Clinical nutrition is focused on metabolic changes during starvation, the role of nutrition in the development of lifestyle diseases, dietary recommendations and special procedures in the application of artificial nutrition.

Completion of compulsory attendance at the lectures. Completion of a written test or oral examination according to the course guarantor's decision.

Content
|
Introduction to the study, a cell from a physiological point of view. Body fluids and blood, composition, meaning, and regulation of extracellular fluid volume. Principles of origin and impulse conduction, muscle contraction. Cardiovascular system. Respiratory system. Endocrine system. Menstrual cycle, pregnancy, childbirth. Physiology of digestion and absorption.
