Course objectives:
|
The aim is to get students acquainted with the physiological functions of tissues and organs and the mechanisms applied in their management and maintenance of homeostasis. Clinical nutrition focuses on metabolic changes during starvation, the share of nutrition in the development of civilization diseases, dietary recommendations and special procedures in the application of artificial nutrition.

Content
|
Body fluids and blood, composition, meaning. Isotonic, hypotonic and hypertonic solution. Principles of origin and conduction of excitement, contraction of smooth, skeletal and heart muscle. Heart contraction, blood circulation, blood pressure and regulation. Respiratory mechanics, gas exchange in the lungs. Hormones and their regulation. Blood glucose regulation. Principles of digestion and absorption.
