Course objectives:
|
The aim of professional practice is to acquire practical experience from real practice, which are important for professional development and understanding of the differences in meeting the needs of women with gyneacological diseases, physiological, risk and pathological pregnant women, maternal and women in puerperium. The course is designed as a practical subject,in a teaching block at least 1 week altogether.

Requirements on student
|
It is compulsory to complete 100% attendance in the internship. Examination in the 2nd year in the winter semester Practical and oral examination focused on performances and procedures in midwifery (the examination takes place in the Department of Postoperative Gynaecology) Fulfilling the specified performances and procedures in midwifery contained in the Midwifery Professional Activities, Care and Education Record.

Content
|
The professional practice is focused on outpatient care, midwifery care for pregnant women and women with risky pregnancy, care in the delivery room and care during the puerperium, care for newborns in the neonatal unit, care in the gynaecological ward including operating theatres, care in the woman's own social environment. Lessons are taught in hospital settings, private practices and private midwives' offices. Teaching is under the guidance of an academic staff member of the FHS or the professional practice mentor/trainer. Performances carried out in the professional practice are recorded in the "Record of Professional Activities, Care and Education in Midwifery."
