Each film is basically an experiment. Only some are more experimental than others.
During our course we will select unique milestones which extended boundaries of human perception.
Beginning at the very cradle of cinema we will examine the work of the following pioneers:
Muybridge, Lumi?re, Méli?s, Griffith, Chaplin, Vertov, Ejzenštejn, Len Lye, Bunuel, Man Ray, Hackenschmied, Lehovec, Maya Deren, Rouch, Goddard, Kildea, Švankmajer, Chytilová

Competences acquired |
Students will be able to use basic knowledge of experimental film and work with camera as well as the basics of film discourse based on the explanation of the concepts and their applied use. Film accepted a lot of these features and transformed them into a new shape, specific for the film. The choice of the films depended on the development of the film language but also on the use of various techniques, e.g. digital material. Abstract film, the first and second Avant-garde, pure film, structural film, etc.
