Course objectives:
|
The aim of the course is to develop students´ intercultural and presentation competences in English bearing in mind different phases of academic presentations and communication in intercultural environment: research, preparation of the discourse and final presentations.

Content
|
Students focus on
English for Academic Purposes as one of the communication forms and
will deal with rhetoric principles and language pragmatics,
identification of the type of audience,
compliance between the content and the language form,
language register, and functional language in terms of specific context,
adequate use of audio visual aids,
non-verbal communication and other aspects related to the intercultural context (cultural dimensions, case studies).
