Course objectives:
|
Based on the characteristics of the entry level of B2, the aim of the study subject is providing the extension of general vocabulary and its enrichment in terms of the relevant terminology, the practise of the corresponding language means and obtaining the skills (speaking, writing, listening and reading) applicable both in the area of general language as well as the language for specific purposes, expected at the level B2+.

Requirements on student
|
Completion of all whole-semester tasks defined by the teacher.
The final testing will be carried out by means of standardised testing materials and focused on identifying the level of the student´s language competence.
Subject completion requirements in case of a distance teaching mode:
Based on the teacher´s requirements, the student participates in online lessons according to the schedule and completes the assigned tasks via the online systems Moodle / MS Teams.

Content
|
Conflicts at workplace, complaints. Employment rights and responsibilities, public authorities. Marketing and advertisement, product features and functions, product name, sales conference, distribution channels. At the fair, exhibition sites and fair targets, conversations at the fair, product presentation. Job opportunities, job offer, applying for a job, job interview.
Standardized final language exam which consists of both the written and the oral part and which also reflects the specific command of language relevant to the student's professional needs.

Students who successfully complete the course can: Define conflict-solving strategies, handle complaints; Clarify the rights and duties at a workplace, communicate with authorities; Describe the basic marketing and advertisement strategies, describe a product and define distribution channels; Define objectives of participation in a fair, involve in a dialogue at a fair and introduce a product; Categorize job opportunities, write a motivation letter and introduce themselves at a job interview.
Students who successfully complete the course can use the relevant language subskills B2+ level CEFR with the aim to: Understand longer utterances even though they are not clearly structured and mutual relations are only outlined; Understand specialist articles in their study and professional field; Express their opinion fluently and promptly including the suitable linking to other speaker´s; Write clear and structured text pointing out the most important aspects and support one´s opinion with the help of suitable examples.
Students who successfully complete the course: Handle most complex every day and professional foreign language situations; Use the language effectively in social and professional situations; Have acquired high level of grammatical and lexical correctness.
