ABSTRACT
Regional policy is an important part of the development of a country or an economic community such as the EU, UN, AU, etc. It can help hasten the growth of the economy, support the creation of several job opportunities, and improve the quality of life for residents or member states. There are a number of things that regional policy can do. It can help set priorities for public investment, set zoning rules, and regulate land use.
Over the years, economies have evolved to realize that the means of resource consumption is not sustainable. Several resources are running into extinction due to the exploitation and exploration of raw materials for production. The traditional pattern of consumption tends to generate waste. In an attempt to be efficient in our resource competition has turned the attention of economies to a pattern of consumption that is more sustainable and resource efficient. Hence the transition to a circular economy. This transition requires public policies that support the transitional agenda.
In this paper, the possibility of the applied public policies to promote the principles of the circular economy would be analyzed.
