Course objectives:
|
There is developed communicative competence in French. Students will be introduced to the basics of French pronunciation and grammar. The contents of the course is development of receptive and productive language skills by acquiring relevant language sub-skills.

Requirements on student
|
Written test at the end of the course. After passing the test (at least 70%), oral part follows.
Attendance min. 75%.

Content
|
Communicative skills - greetings, basic phrases; Grammar and vocabulary - referring to people, masculine and feminine of nouns, alphabet, numerals 0-10.
Communicative skills - introducing yourself, introducing someone; Grammar and vocabulary - definite article of nouns, declarative questions - using intonation, question pronouns quel x quelle (age, address, telephone number), irregular verbs etre and avoir, aller and faire, verbs of the first class (-er), nationality, numerals 11-69.
Communicative skills - possessive pronouns (1), speaking about you; Grammar and vocabulary - c'est / il est, partitive article, pronoun on, expressing negation; sport, jobs, numerals to 69 and above.

Competences acquired |
After the course students manage basic French pronounciation, are able to conjugate I. class verbs and some irregular verbs (etre, aller, avoir, faire, prendre). They are able to introduce themselves and give basic information about themselves.
