Course objectives:
|
The objective of this course is further enhancement of the students' communicative competencies in the English tongue, especially by broadening the vocabulary range in the areas of phraseology and expressions such as idioms, proverbs, similes, borrowings, homonyms, etc. Students will improve their communicative skills and effective use of the language in both oral and written form in a broad variety of contexts. Focus is also on practising the use of linguistic means discussed theoretically within other courses of the linguistic module. Considerable part of the classes is devoted to listening comprehension practice and conversation in English.
