Course objectives:
|
Although women set identical goals during the first and second waves of feminism, the ways and conditions for achieving them were different. This social diversity deepened after World War II, when countries were divided into the Western and Eastern bloc, which ideologically influenced the constructs of femininity and masculinity. The course Gender history 1948-1989 is intended for foreign students who will discuss topics such as women's labour participation, sexuality, motherhood, birth control, political repression of women, etc. During these discussions, students will share their own opinions, experience and knowledge of the history of their country and thus contribute to the comparison of gender issues in different cultural settings.
