Course content
Position of railway transport (RT) on global transport market. Terminology. RT characteristic features. RT systems. Technology and operating of the stations: interjacent, departmental. Technical base of marshalling stations. Technology and operating of the stations - technology of shunting. Operation of cars and trains in marshalling station. Marshalling station operational system. Technology and operating of other stations. Network technology of RT. Marshalling of train. Progressive trends in network technology of RT. Linear technology of RT and train traffic diagram. Computer technology support in creation of train traffic diagram. Utilization of informational and managing systems in technology and operating of RT. Capacity of railway stations and tracks. Measures for increasing of capacity. Time allowance, conclusion.

Learning outcomes
To acquaint students with the legislative for operating transport in the Czech Republic as well as in the EU, to construct the schedule and utilise an information system for controlling the railway transport.
After completing the course, the student is able to utilise legislative knowledge in organization of RT, create an offer of traffic service by construction of schedule.

Oral examination

By awarding course credit it is confirmed that the student of the full-time mode of study has fulfilled the attendendance and other requirements for the course completion.The conditions for awarding the credits are defined by the lecturer.
