Course content
The basic operations with matrices, solving of matrix computations, work with polynomials and interpolation. Visualization - drawing function, 2D- and 3D-graphs. Making user's scripts and functions. Solving simple mathematical tasks by numerical methods, using functions of the functions, numerical integration. Creating of a model in SIMULINK, standard libraries, subsystems and mask subsystems, user libraries. Solving of the simple models using SIMULINK, data input and output.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Methods of individual activities, Skills training
Learning outcomes
The goal of the subject is to familiarize students with high-level language and interactive environment MATLAB.
Using of MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. Numerical solving of ordinary differential equations, integrals, optimisation, finding of roots of function.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of linear algebra (computation with vectors and matrixes), integral and differential equations.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Credit - to obtain minimal 30 from 60 points in MATLAB test and simultaneously minimal 20 from 40 points in SIMULINK test. Examination - the mark is given by a sum of both test points, if needed improvement of mark by oral exam is possible.
