Course content
|
Introduction to sociology - its definition, structure, importance in practice. Determination of sociological phenomena. History of sociology in its genesis. Types of research (audit, marketing research, sociological research). Basic sociological categories - social groups (classification, features, groups, types of groups). Norms and institutions. Deviation. System of social control, sanctions. Values, value system. Conflicts and its solution (interpersonal, intrapersonal). Partial sociological disciplines, family and youth sociology. Leisure time sociology - time record as a sociological method, leisure time activities. Work and industry sociology, settlement, town and countryside sociology.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with basic social terms and provide them with knowledge of elementary methodological processes in the analysis of the social environment. The aim is to learn how to use 10 available research techniques and possibly apply the sociology in the company management and social policy.
Student will acquire a basic knowledge about basic sociological notions and conceptions and student can use these notions during his studying of other economical subjects.

Assessment methods and criteria

Written examination, Home assignment evaluation
Graded assignment granting is conditioned by determination of a social phenomenon and submitting of the questionnaire investigation, completion of the time record within the range of 14 days and passing the final test.
