Course content
Development of European regional administration and its current performance in the Czech Republic. Purpose of European Regional Administration and its current performance in EU. Municipalities in the system of public administration in the Czech Republic. Regions in the system of public administration in the Czech Republic. The role of municipalities and regions as human settlements. Specific features of economic and social activities of municipalities and regions. Application of management and marketing approaches in management of municipalities and regions. Main principles of human resources management at local and regional level. Professional training of selected representatives and officials of the municipal and regional authorities. Participation of regional administration on regional development

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Methods of individual activities
Learning outcomes
The subject deals with the problems concerning the local and regional local government execution as well as the transferred execution of the state administration in the local and regional local government with respect to several key development tendencies and broader European connections
Students will be able to apply their knowledge of current local government and local government in the EU.
Prerequisites
Student should have basic knowledge of public administration.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Oral performance analysis, Work-related product analysis

Assignment is according to the seminar work submission, examination - passing the test or oral exam.
