Course content
Law, sources of law. Legal relations, law interpretation and application. Constitution of the Czech Republic, fundamental rights and freedoms. Civil-law relations - basic terms. Property law and land registry. Law of obligation - selected issues I. Law of obligation - selected issues II. Liability for damage and unjust enrichment. Right to intangible goods. Labour law - selected issues. Civil trial - basic terms, discovery procedure. Civil trial - legal remedies, execution of resolution. Decline in legal causation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce the students to the system of law in the Czech Republic and further clarify essentials of substantive and procedural civil law and some related issues.
Students will acquire basic knowledge of general legal theory, constitution and civil law (especially legal subjectivity, property and obligation law, protection and claiming the rights on trial). This knowledge enables the students further study of legal branches within their study specialization.

Assignment granting is conditioned by attendance at seminars. The precondition for the POPR (Commercial law) examination is successful completion of the PUDP assignment.
