Course content
|
The entire range of restoration and conservation treatments: starting from monument exploration, analyses assessment, restoration project, work procedure documentation up to problems related to storage and protection of treated work. Exploration of deterioration extend, microbiological skimming sampling; stabilization of support, writing, seals, art expressions; exploration: seals, signatures, writing, references; applied materials, inks, graphite, pens, colour, inks, etc; neutralization, alkaline reserve; disinfection; cleaning: mechanical, wet processes, chemical, via enzymes, organic solvents; bleaching procedures. Filling of missing parts of support; retouching problems; problems related to adjusting, protection and prevention of large funds.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to teach the students knowledge and skills needed for the restoration of the first modern periodicals. Student can make an informed work with a form of press and documents, handles the procedures for restoration and preservation.
Student has enough power to address the issue of the restoration and preservation of the first modern periodicals and documents.

Teaching is terminated processing technological and careful documentation and the drawing-up and work in Studio. Surveys are carried out in laboratories outside of the Faculty of natural sciences. Participation in studio exercise is required.
