Course content
Reflection issues restoration of modern works abroad, particularly in the last ten years, an overview of foreign literature. An explanation of the specific features of the scope and on specific cases, restoration of individual works, an overview of possible approaches and procedures. Restoration of kinetického art (Jean Tinguely). Restoration of plastic (Marcel Brothaers). Restoration materials perishable produce: objects from fat Joseph Beuyse, bloody images of Vienna's akcionistů, sculptures from chocolate, etc. Restoration of neon sculptures (Mario Merz). Can be restored in live video art mixes? (Nam June Paik, and group Fluxus). Restoration of photos. Restoration of modern and contemporary art in the Czech Republic-the current state of theory, examples. Field trips to restauration Department National Gallery, brainstorming with experts who have been the Czech art 20. century.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is an introduction into newly growing issues of restoration of modern and contemporary art of the 20. and 21. century. Introduce the artistic styles of the time, especially from the 60ties, when major art developments occurred in the western world. A theoretical reflection of those phenomena has not yet been reflected in the Czech Republic.
Students will learn how to get orientated in emerging discipline in the field of restoration, which deal with the problem in practice.
