Examination methods in cardiology and basic symptomatology. Heart failure. Arrhythmia, syncope. Acute coronary syndromes. Chronic ischaemic heart disease. Arterial hypertension. Venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Carditis and cardiomyopathy. Valvular defects. Introduction to the subject of pneumology. Examination methods in pneumology. Inflammation of the respiratory pathways. Pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system and its function. Diabetes mellitus, type I, type 2. Gastric and duodenal ulcer disease. Acute and chronic pancreatitis. Hepatitis. Liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension. Liver failure. Cholecystitis, cholelythiasis. Nonspecific intestinal inflammation. Urinary tract infections. Renal failure and dialysis. Haematological diseases. The aim of the subject is to broaden students' knowledge in the area of clinical manifestations of basic internal diseases, diagnostic and treatment options, including primary prevention of these diseases.
The student understands the given issues in the range of the syllabus of the subject and is able to use the acquired knowledge and skills while providing health and social care. |
