The aim of the course is to acquire deeper knowledge and practical skills in otorhinolaryngology. Classic specialized nursing issues are complemented by questions concerning operations and economics, by organizational, social, and legal questions, communication with the patient, and by nurse-physician collaboration.
In the course of the practicum sessions, the student will master fundamentals of otoscopy, pharyngoscopy, and rhinoscopy, will actively participate in work in the inpatient department, in the operating room, and in the ambulatory department, and will acquaint himself/herself with coniotomy and tracheotomy practice using a model, or if need be, using a cadaver.
