Course content
Professional practice is carried out through direct and indirect care of female clients, in accordance with the valid legislation under the guidance of the head of the grade, vocational pedagogical worker of the faculty or expert practitioners in a given health facility. Procedures performed at the professional training and all of the professional activities associated with the professional practice are recorded in the "Notebook of performances and other professional activities in the pre-operative care". Content of professional practice is: Nursing care in the form of the nursing process on women in pre-operative care. Using the NANDA domains in the diagnostic phase of the nursing process. The management of pain. Nutrition care for female clients (nutritional screening). Educating female clients in all phases of pre-operative care. Organization and management at departments of pre-operative care. Care for medical devices at the workplace of the central sterilization and workplaces of pre-operative care. Doing the circulating sister´s duties in the operating room. Handling with instruments and instrumentation for all the fundamental performances and procedures at the gynecological and obstetrical operating rooms.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to improve theoretical knowledge and practical skills on the work in terms of clinical practice, get the experience focused on the organization and management of the facilities providing pre-operative care.
Student uses analysis, evaluation and synthesis in the solution of problematic situations during the treatment of clients in the perioperative care. Student is involved in improving the care quality in midwifery practice, has mastered the basic techniques of client physical examination, student independently prepares and implements the education of clients, is able to plan the process in midwifery for clients in the perioperative period with regard to their cultural differences. Student are involved in collaboration within the healthcare team, working closely with family clients, respects and complies with applicable laws and standards. Students are versed in the basic armamentarium for surgical procedures performed in gynecology and obstetrics, handles the basic assistance in these performances.

Completion of 100% compulsory participation in professional training. Completion of given performance. Processing of assigned written work.
