Course content
|
The students will be introduced to basic principles, methods and techniques of personal and social education. We will deal with various kinds of activities which are oriented mainly to developing skills in communication, empathy, social skills (establishing and maintaining relationships, solving problems, cooperation), and also supporting of understanding own personality. Most of the activities will be practical and each student will be allowed to participate actively. Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquire the theoretical foundations, principles, and techniques of personal and social education, and to develop the skill of their practical integration into English language teaching based on personal experience and its systematic reflection. Students familiarize themselves with methods for developing socio-emotional skills, empathy, cooperation, nonviolent communication, and effective conflict resolution in the classroom. Students prepare for the role of a teacher who actively builds positive group dynamics and a safe climate that supports the uniqueness of each pupil, while simultaneously acquiring strategies for mental hygiene, managing professional stress, and promoting a positive self-concept as a foundation for their future professional development. KPUAJ 3.1., 3.2., 6.1. and 6.3.
The students will try out some drama techniques, improvisation, interaction activities, discussions, relaxation etc. in authentic situations during mutual communication and interaction. The course intends to develop personal abilities and skills of each individual to be able to live with oneself and with others (interaction, relationships) in the current social context.

Active participation in the seminar is required, with a maximum of 2 absences per semester. Familiarity with the core and selected recommended literature. Credit will be awarded based on the continuous completion of all assigned tasks, including the final written feedback, within the required deadlines.
