Course content
Printed and written form of Russian alphabet. Practice of basic communication - common phrases, speaking about yourself and your family (questionnaires), about your linguistic abilities. Introduction to Russian grammar - pronunciation rules, basic intonation constructions, verbs - patterns for 1st and 2nd conjugation and future tense, basic numbers. Elementary differences of Czech and Russian cultural background.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Demonstration, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The development of communicative competence in Russian. The course deals with introduction of Russian alphabet, initial development of receptive and productive language skills based on acquisition of relevant language sub-skills. The emphasis is put on right pronunciation, intonation, communication and ability to use the language in everyday situations.
Students will be able to read and write in Cyrilic alphabet of printed and written text, will manage the basics of right pronunciation, work with a dictionary, including ability to create and recognize Russian word constructions. They will be familiar with the elementary cultural differences.

Oral examination, Written examination, Student performance assessment, Discussion

Compulsory attendance (80% at least) will be monitored. Absence needs to be justified. Type of assessment: written test and oral exam (70% at least). Consultations are recommended.
