Course content
Topical content and conversation - culture, theatre. Correspondence, writing advertisements, education, study, exam period, educational system. Grammar - declination nouns, more verbs of both types, past tense, polite address of other people. Texts from the Internet are also used.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Skills training, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
Students will develop communicative competence in Russian, level pre-intermediate, including grammar-lexical structures.
Students will be able to work with a coherent text, taken from periodics, academic sources and also sources from the internet with the ability to summarize gained information and present it in a form of a resumé or annotation.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of Russian at level A1 at least. At the beginning of semester, students can be tested and on the basis of the entrance test results, they can be redeployed to the course of a different language level according to CEFR.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Student performance assessment, Discussion

Compulsory attendance will be monitored. Cases of non-attendance need to be apologised for. Type of assessment: written test and oral exam (70% at least). Consultations are recommended.
