Course content
Pronunciation, stress. Genre of nouns. Present tense of the verb ser, conjugation of verbs ending in -ar, -er, -ir. Basic phrases, introductions, jobs. Alphabet - spelling. Possessive and demonstrative pronouns, plural, numbers up to 9. Greetings, telephone numbers. Definite and indefinite article. Numbers up to 20 and ordinal numbers. Irregular verbs tener, poner, estar. Housing, furniture. Describing a flat. Types of residence in Spain and Latin America. Irregular verbs ir, venir, coger, seguir, cerrar. The expression hay. Numbers 10-1000. Telling the time. Orientation in a town, giving directions.

Learning outcomes
Students will be introduced to Spanish pronunciation and spelling. There is developed basic knowledge of language with an accent on widening every day vocabulary. The development of receptive and productive skills.
After the course, students are able to read any text, are able to communicate in simple situations, introduce themselves, work with short texts, will be able to react in basic communicative situations.

Written examination, Work-related product analysis, Discussion

Active participation in seminars, max. 3 absences - 75%. Written test - covering the lectured topics, min. 70%.
