Course content
What is the philosophy of history and what is the history. The scripture and memory. The beginning and the end. The ancient concept of history. The Judeo ? Christian tradition. Augustin´s concept of history. The secularized history - renaissance and enlightened concept of history. Classical philosophy of history ? Hegel. The positivism and the emergence of social sciences (sociologism, psychologism and historicism). The historical consciousness and understanding. The criticism of historicism. The historical consciousness and traditions of phenomenology and hermeneutics. The postmodernism and history. The new currents in historiography - structuralism, historical anthropology, macro- and micro- history, narrative history.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course The time and history II. is to make a systematic-historical comment on the historical discourse, to subject the main terms as history, historicity, traditions, historical fact. On the background of the topics mentioned above the students acquire the knowledge of the european philosophy of history.
The acquired knowledge and skills of the philosophy of history students apply in the pedagogical context.
