Course content
Examined subject matter is specialized in following topics: Ancient and Medieval astronomy Copernican revolution and the new concept of the Universe in the Modern period Philosophy or methodology of science Positivism and the Vienna Circle Popper, Lakatos, Kuhn, Feyerabend.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
Philosophy or methodology of science attempts to interpret from various points of view: Problematic relationship between science and natural attitude What is the essence of the scholarship of science On which presumptions science has emerged How science has developed and transformed How the scientific research and business proceeds and advances What man can or cannot expect from science.
Students who gain knowledge about the questions of the essence of science from Ancient Greece period till 20th century will be deeply acquainted with basic ideas and scientific paradigms that influnce our way of life and thinking in everyday life.

Didactic test

Active attendance (min. 80 %) Discussions on a given topic. Elaboration of a credit test following the primary literature and the examined subjects.
