Course content
Bohemian Treasury (Böhmische Kammer), Court Treasury (Hofkammer), Ministry of Finance. The first and second instance of financial administration throughout centuries. Customs and monopoly law in 1835. Administration of direct taxes. Administration of indirect taxes. Administration of state monopoly (tobacco, salt, lottery). Malpractice. Specialized judiciary. Civil servants. Financial guard.

Learning outcomes
The goal of this course is description, analysis and comparison of special features of financial administration which can be followed approximately in the territory of Habsburg Central Europe from the middle of the 18th century to 1918.
Students should be able to interpret various phenomena and to analyse historical connections in time and space.

Written examination

A written exam will be passed when students reach at least 75% of the full task.
