Course content
Prestressed concrete, prestressing loss (short term, long term), calculation of losses. Calculation of deformation of concrete by constant and variable voltage components concrete strain. Some rheological models. Additionally, prestressed concrete, switching systems. Effects of prestressing for concrete elements and structures design preload. Power cable for concrete action, the equivalent load of parabolic cable, statically indeterminate effects of prestressing, linear transformations concordant cable cord. Restriction of normal operating voltage of load effects, the allowable zone of prestressed cables static analysis gradually built structures inhomogeneity structures. Solution rheological effects on the structure in a closed form. Ultimate bearing capacity of prestressed members subjected to axial force and bending. Limit load bent sections, depending on the initial state of stress. Secondary effects of prestressing at the ultimate limit state design. Stress of prestressed elements (stress analysis assuming elastic behavior interaction of the internal forces Anchor area, reinforcement anchorage zone limit states (as cracks, crack width, deflection of prestressed structures. Fundamentals of plastic limit analysis method truss analogy.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
Learning outcomes
The students will get information about concrete, its components and design of concrete mixture and about design of horizontal and vertical construction members built from reinforced concrete, according to classic theory and theory of limit states and about principles of reinforcement detailing.
After completing the course the student controls the design principles for designing a massive reinforced concrete bridges.
Prerequisites
Students must havecbefore the test of this course completed a bachelor's degree courses culminating in Strength of Materials I and construction of concrete and prestressed concrete, construction and reconstruction of bridges.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Elaboration of semestral assignment. Examination in the subject (form, content, duration) is determined in accordance with the Study and Examination Regulations UPa.
