Course content
Design and evaluation of steel orthotropic bridge decks I Design and evaluation of steel orthotropic bridge decks II Evaluation of arched steel bridge structure. Solution of rope steel bridge structures. Determination of load capacity of road bridges I Determination of load capacity of road bridges II Determination of load-bearing capacity of railway bridges I Determination of load-bearing capacity of railway bridges II Realization of static and dynamic load test. Bridge inspections and determination of the classification level according to the detected defects. Diagnostic methods of steel bridge structures I Diagnostic methods of steel bridge structures II Excursion on the bridge structure

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is conceived as highly specialized in the field of evaluation of steel bridge structures, especially in terms of their useful properties. It also includes technical design solutions for complex structural units (e.g. design of steel orthotropic bridge decks, assessment of arch and cable bridges) or solutions for special bridges (temporary bridges, movable bridges).
After completing the course, student is familiar with with the field of diagnostics and evaluation of steel bridges
