Course content
1st week Cytodiagnostics - reasons, advantages, disadvantages; work safety in the cytology laboratory. 2nd week Types of cytological samples, preparation of a cytological preparation, laboratory material (cytospins, cytoblocks) 3rd week Cytological staining ? manual, automatic; cytological screening 4th week Quantification of cellular material Week 5 Cell death - live/dead cell staining 6th week Operation of the cytology laboratory, principles of working in a laminar box, cell cultivation and isolation. 7th week Fluorescence and cytochemical staining of cells. Week 8 Suspended tumor cells ? types of staining (nucleus, cytoplasm). 9th week Cytological examination of lung tumor cells ? staining, morphology 10th week Cytological examination of cervical cancer ? HPV screening, Papanicolaou staining, morphology 11th week Cytological examination of kidney cancer - staining, morphology 12th week Determination of cytological characteristics of cell growth as part of in vitro diagnostics - growth kinetics 13th week Presentation of the results of the group project - analysis of the cytological study
