Course content
|
Organisational and administrative issues - choice of the school. Setting the tasks. Observing and teaching 12 lessons at a particular school followed by debriefing sessions with the mentor; completion of the tasks set by the university. Interview with the tutor. Additional topics: prevention of bullying at school, prevention of burn-out. These topics will be covered by external experts.

Learning outcomes
|
Teaching Practice III provides opportunities for students to utilise knowledge and skills previously acquired in the courses of the Professional Module in teaching English at lower secondary schools (2 weeks, 12 lessons). Besides, the student acquires basic orientation in the issues of school culture / climate.
The student develops the professional competence in cooperation with a mentor via the three-phase process: planning - teaching - analysing.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Home assignment evaluation, Work-related product analysis, Discussion, Student portfolio analysis
1. Active participation in seminars preceeding the teaching practice, in seminars facilitated by external experts, and in the group discussion after the teaching practice (1 missed classed tolerated). 2. Observing and teaching 12 lessons at a particular school. 3. Delivery of a complete set of documents related to the teaching practice (for details please see Moodle) 4. Individual interview with the tutor based on the required documents.
