Course content
Teacher´s professional philosophy. Communication in educational settings and its participants - focus on parents, teachers-colleagues and school leadership. Selected topics from the area of teaching English as a foreign language in the English teacher´s communication with parents, teachers-colleagues and school leadership.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Skills training, Stimulating activities (simulation, games, drama)
  • Home preparation for classes - 24 hours per semester
  • Contact teaching - 24 hours per semester
  • Independent critical reading - 36 hours per semester
  • Preparation for a credit (assessment) - 6 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to facilitate further professional development of teacher trainees. They will raise awareness of their own professional philosophy and learn to communicate about professional issues in the Czech language. They will prepare for real-life situations (e.g. meetings with parents, other colleagues or school leadership, etc.) through role playing, simulations, experiential learning or discussions with teachers.
Students will raise awareness of their professional philosophy concerning selected issues in teaching English as a foreign language and will be able to communicate it to various participants in educational communication.

Home assignment evaluation, Class observation

1. active participation in seminars (max. 2 missed classes) 2. completing the tasks set during the course (reflective writing, readings) 3. a written reflection of the learning experience during the course (1 to 2 pages)
