Course content
|
Academic texts with historical context. Grammar, listening. Grammar of historic academic language (e.g. preterit, perfect of irregular verbs, subordinate clauses and word order, numerals, dates, prepositions, geographical names, declination, participles, passive voice).

Learning outcomes
|
Students will deepen their knowledge of German in academic materials of studies, above all by practical development of knowledge of vocabulary and grammar. Seminar is focused on work with texts and media of cultural - historical character. Another component is also exercising grammatical, syntactic and lexical specifics of academic texts.
Receptive language competence will be strengthen, such as reading with comprehension and text production. Students will learn how to work with academic texts, will practice their translation and interpretation. They will also be able to discuss in the target language on historical subject. Students will manage grammar - lexical structures of a given academic language.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written examination
Seminar attendance (max. 2 absences). Active participation, Completion of tasks (language accuracy necessary). Exam - final test - grammar and lexical structures, vocabulary, work with academic texts, reading comprehension, translation.
