Course content
Abbreviations, addressing someone, forms of greeting, general rules, formats of German business letter. Phrases, grammatical and lexical structure of business letters. Specifics of electronic correspondence. Request, CV, advertisement. Agreeing on date, confirmation. Booking a hotel room, reservation. Inquiry, offers. Terms of delivery. Prices, invoices, payments. Request for payment, complaint.

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on gaining skills required for effective communication and written interaction in social, business and administrative areas. Special attention is paid to formal business correspondence among companies and individuals in different format, regarding cultural differences. Authentic German materials will be used during the course.
Students will gain ability of effective communication and written expressing in social, business and administrative contacts. They will manage garmmatical-lexical structures and formal rules of business letters.

80% attendance at the seminars, Seminar papers. Written test. (writing an authentic business letter/e-mail/ on a given topic).
