Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to literary studies, including basic terminology of the field. The course is conducted by the means of seminars in which theoretical issues and phenomena presented in lectures are practically applied to primary texts in the form of guided discussions. Students will get acquainted with the basics of approaches to the research of literature, develop the ability to analyse literature independently and create an overview of the basic periodization of the history of German-written literature, which constitutes a prerequisite for the successful mastering of other subjects in the cultural module.
