Course content
Introduction to polish phonetics and ortography, diferences between Czech and Polish language. Polish speech sounds, their pronuntiation, ortography. Pronuntiation in use. Writing of : ę, ą, ó, ć, dź, h. Listening, translation and reading of polish texts for beginners. Writing of: i, j, ń, rz, ś. Listening, translation and reading of polish texts for beginners. Writing of: ź, q, v, x, z. Listening, translation and reading of polish texts for beginners. Writing of negative nie and prefixes bez- and roz-. Listening, translation and reading of polish texts for beginners. Writing of prefixes wz-, wez- a ws-, wes-. Listening, translation and reading of polish texts for beginners. Writing of great inicials. Writing of foreign words: Czech and Slovak titles, first and family names. Writing of polish texts for beginners - ortography in use. Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to Polish grammar. Students should learn basics of Polish writing and reading. They should understand elementary Polish texts. They should know basic literature and sources.
Students should be able to write and read elementary Polish texts correctly. They should have basic knowledge of Polish grammar.
Prerequisites
The basics knowledge of Polish language.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Didactic test, Systematic monitoring

Active participation in the seminars, presenting a short paper, passing a final test, regular attendance (max. two absences).
