Course content
|
Introducing the terminology of social politics. The development of social politics in the world, in Europe, and in the Czech Republic. The social state; its origin in Europe. The typology of the social state and its current problems. The aims of social politics; objects and subjects of social politics. Implements of social politics. Principles of social politics - social justice, solidarity, subsidiarity, and participation. Poverty as a problem of social politics. Currently solved problems of SP in society - unemployment, the reform of social security.

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of this course is to introduce to students the basic terms, principles, and knowledge of the theory of social politics and the social state.
Students will be able to understand such social cases as poverty, old age, maternity, health, illness, invalidity, or unemployment. They will learn to understand the basic legislation of social politics. They will understand the principles of the usage of devices in social politics and they will be able to distinguish the purpose and function of individual institutions connected to social politics.

Credit is based on writing a paper according to an assignment and a written test.
