Course content |
Methods used in onsite activities (excavations) and their elaboration (offsite activities). The development of rural settlement during middle ages and related structural changes. Small fortified sites of middle ages, their origin and development. The archaeological research of fortified sites (hillforts and castles) of early and high middle ages. Selected chapters from archaeology of middle ages in eastern Bohemia.

Learning outcomes |
To give the basic information about the archaeology of middle ages from point of view theory and practise. Students will independently elaborate reports in selected problems and they will discuss them with other students in seminar.
More detail knowledge about archaeology of middle ages and about the methods of archaeological work. The chosen topics will have relationship with the problems studied by students in their bachelor theses. |
