Course content
The religious situation (the rise of the Fraternal association; attempts at accreditation of the "kompaktáta" agreement and making an agreement with the Catholic Church, especially the Papacy). The foreign political activities of Jiří from Poděbrady (for example, the attempt at creating an association of European monarchs). Growth of inner opposition and Czech-Hungarian War; Matyáš Korvín. The issue of Czech conditions in the broader context of events happening in neighboring countries and with the main European powers (Hungary, Austria, Poland, the German Empire, Italy, France, the Turkish invasion). The issue of economic, social, and cultural history.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to outline the historical development in the Czech lands from 1434-1471 in the context of European historical development. Attention will be focused on changes in political, religious and economical conditions of the specified period.
Students will be informed about basic literature in the field and will understand the problems of the study of Central European history in the specified period.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Credit will depend on the student passing a written test to verify an understanding of the lectured subject matter (approximately 40 questions; achieving a minimum of 70 is required). In the case of failure, there is the possibility of writing two more correction tests.
