Course content
Introduction to the study of the organization of museums. The mission of museums; their aims and tasks. Different types of museums. Activities of museums - making collections, documentation, and scientific research. Rules of the administration of museum collections. Museum organization of exhibitions. Other presentation forms of museum activities and their specifics. The essentials of museum management.

Learning outcomes
This course, which takes the form of seminars, is to introduce students to the historical development and current network of museums in the Czech Republic and, to a lesser extent, in other European countries. They will evaluate the specific forms of activity in these institutions, especially the level of their propagation and popularization.
Students will get the ability to find sources of information about the activities of museum institutions and to evaluate those activities analytically.
