Course content |
Introduction to health informatics. Functional units and modules of the HIS and their linkages, the benefits of HIS. System administration, configuration and dials. Patient records, patient administration and statutory returns, UZIS, NHIS, registers (outpatient and inpatient). Electronic patient record (EPR), a free and formalized documentation, related legislation, availability, registration of diagnoses. Medication and prescribing, the drug chain (pharmacy warehouses on the wards). Management of Workflow with the use of HIS, requirements, orders, diary. Laboratory and imaging complement, ordering, working with results, automation, barcode and other technologies. Reporting and billing of care with the support of HIS, the power and the DRG system. The operational and economic systems, systems to support management decision making. Introduction to the control of HIS MEDEA, the individual modules. Examples of system administration (map of nodes, managing users, access rights). Patient administration (ambulance and bed - reception, translation, dismissal), report, NHIS, a central register. Outpatient finding report, documentation in hospital, reports, templates, discharge summary, operating protocols, nursing documentation. Sample pharmacy IS, working with a stock of drugs and medical supplies on the ward, medication, prescribing, sets. The requirements, orders, and diary. Laboratory information system LIS, the work request forms and results in the clinical module HIS MEDEA, the manual input of results. Modules HIS MEDEA for radiodiagnosis and pathology, work with the PACS. Taking the reporting of data in clinical modules, work with the DRG case, the central processing assembly.

Learning outcomes |
The aim of the course is to gain a clear view of the functions and modules of a hospital information system (HIS) and to gain in-depth knowledge of modules used in clinical settings; to gain knowledge of legal regulations related to the usage of health care documentation and the usage of health care information systems, practical acquisition of skills to use HIS clinical modules.
The student will be able to plan and organize the use and development of a HIS in his/her work setting, to conduct an expert assessment of the impact of implementing its individual components even at the level of the entire institution and will be able, in particular, to independently serve the HIS and to share his/her experience with others. |
