Course content
Practicing nursing activities and the nursing process. Practicing communication skills. Respecting the patient's rights. Applying the principles of ethics to work. Material and technical equipment of the health care rescue service. Health care operational centre. Nursing procedures in pre-hospital care. Scuba diving and water rescue course. Material and technical equipment of the emergency admission department. Management of organization of work in the emergency admission department and the health care rescue service. Nursing care in the medical, surgical, and paediatric ICU. Nursing care in the emergency admission department. Nursing care in situations involving ambulance teams of the emergency medical services and emergency health care services. Nursing care in the delivery room and gynaecology department. Specific work in the health care operational centre, collaboration with the fire rescue service and the mountain rescue service.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to gain practical skills in a network of institutions and workplaces representing emergency medical services within an integrated rescue service network and in other areas that engage in health and life rescue.
The student uses analysis, evaluation and synthesis to resolve problem situations in the treatment of sick patients/clients who are experiencing or are at risk of failing vital signs. He participates in improving the quality of nursing care, masters basic techniques of physical examination of the patient, independently prepares and implements educating clients, is able to plan the nursing process for patients with failure of vital functions due to their cultural differences. He participates in cooperation within the healthcare team, cooperates with the patient/client family, respects and observes applicable laws, ordinances and standards.

It is compulsory to complete 100% attendance in the internship. It is compulsory to complete the determined procedures and nursing processes.
