Course content
Dead foetus syndrome. Artificial termination of pregnancy in the 2nd trimester. Embolism in pregnancy. Obstetric haemorrhage. Examination methods in delivery rooms. Interpretation of cardiotocographic recordings. Model situations - training the management of foetal delivery in the longitudinal position during breech birth. Model situations - shoulder dystocia followed by resuscitation of the newborn. Midwifery care of a mother during surgical delivery. Midwifery care of a mother with an irregular course of labour.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with irregularities and complications during childbirth and the postpartum period.This is an extremely serious obstetric issue, which in practice requires a team of midwives and a doctor to deal with serious obstetric complications.
Students provide care in midwifery to women with irregularities and complications during labour and puerperium.
