Key learning outcomes The graduate student from the bachelor study Clinical Biology and Chemistry is educated worker trained for individual working in analytical laboratory and is specialised for working in laboratory focused on analysis of biological material, clinical biochemistry, microbiology, immunology and immunochemistry, toxicology, etc. The graduate has a good command of skills connected with taking, processing, keeping and analysing of biological materials given for examination by various analytical methods. He/she is able to operate with laboratory technics, knows principles of their functions and options of calibration. He/she knows ways operating of computer equipment and data processing including of calibration systems. Using expert literature he/she assembles methodologies for routine usage, knows ethic rules of medical worker, operation economics and abidance of safety and occupational hygiene in laboratory. The graduate students assert oneself in area of laboratory medicine and diagnostic, can find assertion in analytical, control and referential laboratories of vet institutes, laboratories for fabrication of biopreparations and drugs, forensic institutes, private analytical laboratories, research institutes, laboratories of Academy of Science and other institutions focused on analysis of biological materials at testing of several substances, drugs, reagents, genetic modified organisms. Another possibility of assertion of graduate students is preparation and fabrication of primary reagents for diagnostic sets, validation of quality, development and searching for new diagnostic approaches and methods. He/she can work in pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry at development of new preparations, products, validation of quality and effects, health harmlessness. The graduate student can assert at development and fabrication of vaccine and other bioactive substances. He/she can exploit gained knowledge in toxicology (testing of chemical substances and their harmlessness for environment and human population), environment analysis (water, air, soil), food industry (validation of food quality, controlling of food products harmlessness, disproving of genetic modified organisms).
