Course content
Introduction to Business. Recruitment. Making Contacts. Telephoning. Business Correspondence. Business Travel. Socializing; Dining Out. Complex language exam based on the standardized testing materials and including both the receptive and the productive language skills.

Learning outcomes
The main course objective is to enhance the previously acquired language skills with special attention paid to the development of the language used in the specific area of Business English. The initial level of communicative competence: B1 in General English. The final level of communicative competence: B1 in Business English. The course focuses on developing vocabulary and productive skills relevant to students´ future professional careers.
The student is able to communicate interactively at B1 level, is versed in using extended Business English vocabulary. B1/BE: Speaking: interactivity, distinguishing register. Reading: mastering reading techniques, advanced use of dictionaries and sources of information. Writing: respecting style and register. Listening: comprehension of commonly mediated types of listening (Working English).
Prerequisites
Communicative competence: CEFR A2+ in general English.

Assessment methods and criteria
Work-related product analysis, Didactic test

Portfolio of assignments submitted by a given date. Written test (pass mark 60%). Moodle - going through the course.
