Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
Learning outcomes
The special section is focused on individual groups, genera and species of microorganisms important in the field of human and veterinary microbiology including their laboratory diagnostics, which is practised in laboratories. Adequate attention is paid to antibacterial agents and mechanisms of their action including the methods for determination of susceptibility.
Students become acquainted various etiological agents - their characteristics, cultivation and identification including susceptibility to antibiotics. Completion of the course is necessary for the further studies of clinical microbiology.
Prerequisites
KBBV/C508 - General microbiology KBBV/C614 - Fundamentals of medical genetics
KBBV/C508

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Final exam consists of a written test and oral examination. Before oral exam the students complete the written test with 10 questions. It is necessary to write the test at 60 %. It means that they have to achieve 12 points out of 20. Then the knowledge is verified during the oral examination.
