Learning outcomes |
The concept of the course is the application of theoretical knowledge gained in PR1N and broadening and developing skills. Special attention is paid to the choice of appropriate language means in agreement with the style and function of the text. Individual work with selected texts and subsequent discussion of problematic areas and finding optimal solutions.
Students will be able to choose appropriate language means in agreement with style and function of the text. They will know how to avoid basic translating mistakes and will learn how to suggest and look for appropriate and correct translating procedures. |

Assessment methods and criteria |
Written examination
Translations, active participation. Presentation (10 - 15 minutes.). Seminar paper: topic of own choice, range 1 - 2 standard pages into German (by 15th November). Written exam - translation to and from German based on the topics listed in syllabus. |
